102 Years of Hope and The Mission Continues
For 102 years, City Union Mission has provided food, safe shelter, compassionate care, and the hope of the Gospel to Kansas City Neighbors facing homelessness, poverty, and crisis. Celebrate Hope is our annual campaign to sustain this work and prepare the Mission to serve even more people in the year ahead. From October 1st through January 31st, our goal is to raise $6.5 Million, nearly half of our annual operating budget.
When Kansas City comes together, neighbors in crisis can receive nourishing meals, safe shelter, and support on the path to stability.

The Need Is Growing, and So Is Our Commitment
More individuals and families are turning to City Union Mission as rising housing costs, food insecurity, addiction, mental health challenges, and family instability place greater pressure on our community.
In 2027, the Mission plans to provide nearly 118,000 nights of shelter, a close to 40% increase in capacity, while limiting projected operating-budget growth to 2.5% Our commitment is to welcome each person with dignity, meet urgent needs, and offer support for the steps ahead.
