🏡❤️ A fresh start begins with the basics!
We love seeing our Mission team come together to help guests move into safe, stable homes in our community!
From food and toilet paper to cleaning supplies, our Warehouse team goes above and beyond to make sure each person has the essentials they need to settle in and start fresh.
It’s more than supplies. It’s compassion, dignity, and support for the journey ahead. ❤️
A huge THANK YOU to our Warehouse team for helping make a house feel like home!

Tomorrow, we celebrate the graduates of City Union Mission’s Christian Life Program and the meaningful steps they have taken toward recovery, renewed hope, and lasting transformation.
Each man has a unique story of perseverance, faith, and personal growth. Through their commitment to change and the support of a Christ-centered community, they are building a foundation for a brighter future.
Graduation is more than a milestone. It celebrates hard work, renewed purpose, and the hope of what lies ahead.
Join us as we honor their accomplishments!

A set of keys can change a lot.
Last week, three City Union Mission program participants received reliable used vehicles through our Car Ministry after completing long-term recovery programming and taking meaningful steps toward work and independence.
For them, a car means getting to work, making appointments, getting to church, buying groceries, and having more freedom in everyday life.
One participant shared, “I’m forever thankful, and I feel blessed.”
Thank you to @fox4kc and reporter David D`Marco for visiting City Union Mission and helping tell this story.
Reliable transportation can remove another barrier on the road to stability and independence.

Hope begins with a meal, a safe place to sleep, and support for the next step.
For 102 years, City Union Mission has walked alongside Kansas City neighbors facing homelessness, poverty, and crisis. Our community makes that care possible.
In this Kansas City Spotlight interview, CEO Gareth Keown shares how Celebrate Hope helps sustain that work—and how you can be part of it.
Watch the video, then visit our website through the link in our bio and look for Celebrate Hope. Explore ways to give, volunteer, and share the Mission with someone you know.
Your next step can help make someone else’s possible.

Hope can begin with something simple: a warm meal, a safe place to sleep, and someone who cares about what comes next.
Today, we’re launching Celebrate Hope, City Union Mission’s largest campaign of the year. Through January, you can help make meals, shelter, and Christ-centered care possible for our Kansas City neighbors facing crisis.
There’s a place for you in this story. Visit the link in our bio to explore the Celebrate Hope page and find a way to get involved.
A certification can open a door. 👏
Over the past year, 19 City Union Mission participants have completed forklift training and earned their certification through training at our warehouse. Two others received assistance in earning their OSHA 10 certification.
These are practical skills that can lead to employment, greater stability, and new opportunities.
We’re grateful for team members like Mike who invest their time and knowledge into helping participants prepare for what comes next.
This is what moving forward can look like. One skill, one opportunity, one step at a time.

This is what transformation looks like. 🙌
Michael has been putting in the work, and we are so thankful to see what God is doing in his life.
He recently reached graduate status in our Christian Life Program, received a vehicle through our Car Ministry, and is continuing his education through the Excel program as he works toward his degree.
And recently, Michael got to celebrate that progress alongside others and meet Congressman Emanuel Cleaver. 📚👏
These are more than milestones. They are steps Michael is taking toward the life he is building, surrounded by support and guided by his faith in God.
Michael, we are proud of you. Keep going. The best is yet to come. 🤍
This is hope. This is transformation. This is why we do what we do at City Union Mission.
