Dave Capp, from IT at the Mission, plays hymns for the guests at our L. Minor Care Center during chapel. The men help choose the song and either join in or relax and enjoy the music as Dave sings and plays his guitar.
City Union Mission goes through about 20 pillows a month. St. Luke's Hospice House donated enough pillows to provide comfort to our weary guests until potentially the end of the year! What a blessing!

If you have product or services you would like to donate to give hope to our mission, please email: corporaterelations@cityunionmission.org.
Our youth department had a visit from a former student that came to the Vanderberg Youth Center during our after school program. He is graduating high school next week and he took time to read with one of our younger students during our education time! We were so happy to see him and love staying connected with those that have been part of the VYC.
On Monday evenings, the guests at our L. Minor Care Center attend a life recovery group. Then, on Tuesday mornings, we touch base to search for ways to find the joy in all circumstances and journeys.

Rejoice always, pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16
Youth With a Mission KC (or YWAM KC) has begun a new partnership with the Mission to come serve here every 2 weeks. This last time, they arrived with 11 people and completed a variety of tasks, such as loading in our Blessing Zone, creating hygiene kits, clean-up, and some new Christmas prep. Their next visits in May will help us prepare for our school uniform campaign and then get us fully prepped for our Ladies Bible Study Camp.

Community Covenant Church of Lenexa held a Truck Drop Off Event on May 7th during their Sunday services. They invited a vehicle from the Mission to be present during the event and collected canned goods for our Food Warehouse. Thank you CCC for collecting 538 pounds of canned goods for the Mission!
Recently the New Life Program (NLP) celebrated the end of the school year with our volunteer group from Fellowship Greenwood. In connection with Cinco de Mayo the NLP and Greenwood enjoyed the evening with a Mexican style dinner and lawn games. We appreciate the time Greenwood takes throughout the school year to let our residents know how special and loved they are.
The youth choir from 4th Baptist Church from Plymouth, MN came to the Kansas City area to perform with their beautiful voices and handbells. They sang songs about the goodness of God and the precious gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ. They even sang a song in Latin! This group of 75 very energetic high schoolers performed a concert for guests at our Men's Center on the first evening and our Women & Family Center the next night. They brought a lot of hope, joy and fun into the lives of those we serve. So beautifully done. Such an amazing ministry they have!
