During a recent evening devotional, one of our residents made the decision to surrender their life to Jesus as Lord and Savior.
This is the heart of our Mission, and one of the greatest fruits of the work God has called us to.
For 101 years, He has been using this ministry to bring hope, healing, and eternal life to men, women, and children in Kansas City.

Meet Markel, a 9-year-old at our Family Center whose story touched our hearts.
During a tour, he asked our Safety & Security Administrator, Troy Foster, if he would be his “big brother and football coach.” With gratitude, Troy said yes.
Troy then took Markel and his brother to a football camp and out to ice cream after.
Markel’s story doesn’t stop there; he recently shared that he’s getting baptized at a local church he invited his mother to attend. Now, his whole family is being drawn closer to Christ through his faith.
Stories like Markel’s remind us why the Mission exists, and how God has worked through 101 years of impact in Kansas City.

Quarterly at City Union Mission, we celebrate Spiritual Emphasis Week, a time of revival for our CLP staff and participants.
The focus? Staying rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 🌿
Our theme came from John 15: Abiding in Christ, and Chaplain Emmanuel Bythfia reminded us that life and strength come when we stay connected to the vine.
