Fighting Hunger and Homelessness for the Kansas City Homeless this November
November marks the start of Hunger and Homlessness Awareness Month and although this a time to begin our holiday planning, its also a time to shine a light on the struggles faced by the Kansas City homeless. At City Union Mission, we see the reality of hunger among the Kansas City homeless every day. Guests who walk through our doors rely on us daily, not only for a safe place to sleep but also a hot meal and the hope of a fresh start. This work would not be possible without the generosity of our supporters and the dedication of our volunteers who give their time and energy to partner with our mission to aid those in need.
Celebrate Hope: Filling the Gap for the Kansas City Homeless
This year, the need is urgent. Our Celebrate Hope Campaign is raising critical funds to address the record number of homeless and hungry in Kansas City. With just under 100 days left in our campaign, we’ve already raised nearly 1 Million dollars. These funds directly support shelter and recovery programs that provide meals, care, and life-changing opportunities for the Kansas City homeless.

Volunteer Opportunities in Our Kitchen
One of the most direct ways you can join us in providing for the Kansas City homeless is by volunteering in our kitchen. We now welcome volunteers two times a day, six days a week (excluding Sundays), giving you multiple chances to serve those who need it most. Every hour you give translates into a hot meal and a message of hope for someone who may be experiencing homelessness.
