Needs Met. Lives Transformed.

Serving Our City’s Homeless & Hurting

Since 1924, we’ve offered hope to men, women and children struggling with huge challenges. Homelessness. Addiction. Poverty.

We start by extending a welcoming hand and helping to meet their immediate needs – food, shelter, clothing.

From there, we offer them a new foundation for their lives through Christ – and life-changing programs that move them toward physical, emotional and spiritual wholeness.

Needs met. Lives transformed.

It’s only possible because of your support!

Make a Difference Now

🎉 Today, we officially launch Celebrate Hope 2025-2026: 101 Years of Impact!

From October 1 through January 31, we’re uniting our city to raise $6.5 million so that men, women, and children experiencing homelessness in Kansas City can find meals, shelter, recovery, and life-changing support this winter and beyond.

For over 100 years, City Union Mission has walked alongside our neighbors in need. But we can’t do this without YOU. 💙

Together, we can Celebrate Hope and continue providing the life-transforming services our guests depend on every single day.

💙 Transformation in action!

We’re thrilled to welcome David Berg to our staff, a former resident, CLP graduate, and intern who has now joined the Mission team full-time.

Pictured here with Josh, another resident-turned-staff member, David is part of something truly special: we now have two staff members who were once residents themselves. 🙌
Their stories are a powerful reminder of what’s possible when hope, faith, and support come together.

At City Union Mission, we’re celebrating 101 Years of Impact — and people like David and Josh show the lasting difference that your prayers, support, and generosity make every day.

We are grateful to our friends at FOX4 News Kansas City for sharing our story. 🙏

For 101 years, City Union Mission has served as a place of hope for Kansas City’s homeless and hurting neighbors. But today, our legacy is at risk. Demand for shelter, meals, and recovery programs is at record levels while resources are running low.

That’s why we’ve launched the 101 Years of Impact Campaign, calling on Kansas City to help keep this century-long legacy alive. Together, we can make sure the Mission continues to be a place of hope for generations to come.

Transformation is happening at City Union Mission!

We are thrilled to celebrate several men who have recently launched from the Christian Life Program (CLP) into the community:
✨ Marvin — now self-managed, employed, and in his own apartment.
✨ Kevin — growing in faith, connected to his church, working, and thriving in permanent housing.
✨ Sam — persevering through challenges, volunteering, and moving into supportive housing.
✨ Gordon — living out his faith, working, and stepping into permanent housing.

Each of these men represents the heart of our Mission — lives renewed, strengthened, and transformed.
Join us as we honor them and others at the upcoming CLP Graduation:
 October 21 | 6–8:30 PM
 Graceway Church

Please keep these men in your prayers as they continue their journeys — and celebrate with us what God is doing through 101 Years of Impact!
