Community Assistance

Serving Kansas City with God’s Love

Christ-centered outreach ministry

Community Assistance is a Christ-centered outreach ministry that seeks to share the gospel message and give spiritual encouragement to everyone who comes through our doors.

A ministry of our Family Center, Community Assistance reaches out to low-income women and families living in the Kansas City area and offers compassionate care that relieves financial strain by providing:

Food

Clothing & school uniforms

furniture & housewares

utilities

baby supplies

Beginning in November, we also offer Thanksgiving and Christmas assistance.

In addition, Community Assistance sponsors a weekly Bible study for ladies living in the community, and our Community New Life Program seeks to improve women’s lives through a relationship with Christ and living stability by offering case management, incentives, resources and accountability in a long-term relationship.

SEASONAL PROGRAMS AND SPECIAL OUTREACHES

During the week of Thanksgiving as many as 200 food boxes are provided for low-income neighbors, senior citizens and area shut-ins. Each one is filled with the essentials to prepare a holiday meal for four people.

Income-qualified families are invited to “shop” at our Christmas Store for gifts for their husbands, wives and children. They select from items like new toaster ovens, pajamas, tool sets, basketballs, dolls and baby blankets which have been donated by compassionate individuals, groups and businesses in the community.  Families will also receive a food box filled with items to prepare a complete holiday meal.  Call the Community Assistance info line for more details and guidelines: (816) 329-1441.

Scheduling begins the first week of November: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

Special Holiday Hours in December:  Monday–Thursday 10:00 am to 3:00 pm,  Friday 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
