KANSAS CITY, Mo.—On Friday, November 6, City Union Mission program graduate Kenneth, will receive a car from Mission partner Heartland Chevrolet. A car presentation to commemorate the first Mission program graduate to receive a donated car from the dealership will take place at Heartland Chevrolet located at 501 Route 291 in Liberty at 11 a.m.

“A car opens up countless opportunities for our graduates and is a tremendous stepping stone on their journey towards establishing a career and restarting their lives. We’re incredibly grateful for Heartland Chevrolet’s generosity and their support transforming the lives of our graduates,” said City Union Mission Chief Executive Officer Terry Megli.

Since March, Heartland Chevrolet has hosted several monthly donation drives to provide essential items to City Union Mission and their guests. When the dealership learned about the Mission’s desire to provide cars to program graduates, they immediately took action, creating a plan to help meet this need. “All of us at Heartland Chevrolet saw a wonderful opportunity to use our cars to help change lives and also strengthen the remarkable work of City Union Mission. City Union Mission is committed to the long-term health and independence of individuals and families struggling through hard times. Our goal is to help make that a reality,” said Steve Isaacs, Heartland Chevrolet General Sales Manager.

Mission program graduate Kenneth will receive the keys to a 2014 Chevy Spark at Friday’s ceremony. “Kenneth has worked tirelessly to obtain a job and save money over the past several months. He is elated to receive a car because of the reliable transportation and opportunities for job advancement it will provide,” said Megli.
