KANSAS CITY, Mo.—On Tuesday, April 14, City Union Mission will team up with the Kansas City Royals for the Mission’s third annual fundraiser, Changing the Heart of Our City. The benefit for the Mission’s services to homeless and disadvantaged individuals and families will take place at 5 p.m. at the Hall of Fame Suites in Kauffman Stadium immediately followed by the Royal’s home game against the Chicago White Sox.

The event honors area men and women whose legacies of leadership and humanitarianism have had a profound and positive impact on the Kansas City community. This year, the Mission is honoring Dan Doty, who has served over 40 years at the Mission and 28 of those years as their 4th Executive Director, and his wife, Vannie — a couple who have dedicated their lives to sharing God’s transformational love and hope with the poor and homeless of Kansas City.

Funds raised at the Changing the Heart of Our City celebration will help fund Mission programs to empower men and women with the tools and resources to create stable, Christ-centered lives and become productive members of the community.

Sponsorship opportunities are available, as well as single tickets that can be purchased in advance— but tickets are limited. For details or to reserve your spot at this event, contact Dennis Chapman at (816) 329-1476 or dennis.chapman@cityunionmission.org, or visit their website at cityunionmission.org.

“We urge individuals, as well as business and civic leaders, to partner with us in this special opportunity to provide life-changing outreach to our local communities while cheering on our beloved Royals as they go to bat against the White Sox and homelessness.”
